Privacy notice
This notice explains how Vivus AS handles personal data when you use this website. It covers the website — not the healthcare you receive from us, which is documented in your patient record.

What we collect
This website has no forms, no search, no login and no analytics. We ask you for nothing, and you can read the entire site without telling us anything about yourself.
The only thing recorded automatically is ordinary technical server logs held by the company that hosts the site for us. These contain your IP address, the time, which page was requested and which browser was used. The logs are used for operations and security, not to follow you and not for marketing.
Why we process it, and on what basis
- Server logs: to operate the site, detect faults and detect attacks. The basis is legitimate interests (GDPR article 6(1)(f)) — we have a real interest in the site being available and secure, and the logs are not used for anything else.
- Booking: when you book an appointment, your data is processed in our patient record system in order to provide you with healthcare. The basis is article 6(1)(c) and article 9(2)(h), together with Norwegian health legislation. This happens in the booking system, not on this website.
Who sees it
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing. Two suppliers process data on our behalf, both under a data processing agreement:
- Equitia hosts the website and processes the server logs described above.
- EG PasientSky provides the booking system and the patient record system. When you click to load the booking system, your browser connects to their system, and booking continues there.
The booking system is not loaded until you click it yourself. Until then, nothing is sent to EG PasientSky.
How long we keep it
Server logs are deleted routinely after a short period. Data relating to healthcare is retained according to Norwegian health legislation, not according to choices we make.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own. We are waiting for a complete list from EG PasientSky of what their booking system stores in your browser when you choose to load it, and we will update this section as soon as we have it. Until then: the booking system is not loaded until you click it, so nothing is stored by them before you do.
Your rights
You have the right to see what data we hold about you, to have incorrect data corrected, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to object to processing and to data portability. Some of these rights are limited for data held in a patient record, because we have a statutory duty to document.

Complaints
If you disagree with how we handle your personal data, we would like to hear it first so that we can put it right. You always have the right to complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
